Pause updates Feature on Windows 10 Creators update

Since the release of Windows 10 in 2015, a number of updates weren’t stable and created driver issues and webcam problems, among a number of other issues. However, certain other updates, such as definition updates for Windows Defender, will continue to be installed ( which isn’t really an issue as these updates won’t affect the stability of the OS  to keep your device secure.

In a recently leaked Windows 10 Insider preview build 14997, Microsoft added a new option to pause updates on Windows Update which simply pause the updates from being installed for up to 35 days, It is a welcome feature for users who are not happy with the current behavior of updates in Windows 10, which download automatically and install immediately.

As you can see from the screenshot above, there's a new Pause Updates switch in there, which if you turn on will make Windows not install any more updates for the next 35 days The main benefit that pause updates brings to the table is that users have now an easy option to block updates from being installed directly when they are released. That's useful if you want to wait before updates are deployed on your system.

 Note : This feature, unfortunately, won’t be available until the Windows 10 Creators Update is released. 

Configure Pause updates Feature on Windows 10 Creators update

 A special option was added to the Windows Update page of the Settings app. Once enabled, updates will be paused for 35 days. Here is how to enable this feature.

First Note you must have Windows 10 Insider preview build 14997 to Check and Try This Feature. Now Click on Start menu - Settings - Update & Security.

 Now Select Windows update from Left side, scroll down to Advanced Options and Click on it.  Or you Can Simply Press Win + R to Open The Run And Type Bellow Command  : ms-settings:windowsupdate-options. This Will open the Scree where you will get the option to Pause Updates.

Turn it on and you are done.

Once you completed the steps, Windows 10 will defer updates from being installed on your device for up to 35 days. Though, at any time, you can come back to Settings to disable the feature.
